Korea and Japan: two nations close geographically, but markedly different in personality. This two-week tour, largely self-guided, covers the most prominent areas of these East Asian neighbours, giving a flavour of both and providing the opportunity to discover fascinating contrasts in history, culture, and cuisine. The itinerary is bookended by three days each in the respective capital cities of Seoul & Tokyo: both buzzing megalopolises with a huge variety of sights and experiences. In between there are mirrored stays in the cultural capitals of Gyeongju in Korea and Kyoto in Japan, and journeys through the characterful second cities of Busan and Osaka.
